Heart's DesireA Poem by MaryHeart’s desire My subconscious stirs at night, I can’t control any longer the fire that burns inside. So I dream of never ending beauty And my greatest wishes My secrets revealed, You stand before me My heart’s desire Your star lit eyes like never before You adore me and only me What a silly little fantasy I have created, A false dream that only brings pain But for now I smile in my utter bliss As your breath mingles with mine I cry tears of pure joy, Our minds and souls becoming one But right before I truly let go I am pulled from my endless wonder by a sound, A screeching howl of reality, My alarm clock Tears still fresh in my dark eyes I willingly forget the time I spent, With my heart’s desire. © 2010 MaryAuthor's Note
