Silver StepsA Poem by Marya poem i had to write in class today...what do you think? It is for a grade!Silver Steps My feet quick on the slippery pavement I dash to make up lost time My bag pulling on my tired body. This is my constant rhyme, The tick tock on the morning clock That brings the yellow monster to me I swear I will wait for eternity. It is a ritual I’ve come to dread, The long early walk In the cottony fluff, That falls from a sunless sky. I swear that I will die But never stop the endless trot, When I get there I only wait, Sometimes minutes Sometimes longer, But each second makes the chill grow fonder Of my once warm flesh, That is now numb and dry With my winter lullaby.
