Louis

Can you fall in love on a second date? Is that allowed? Is there a rule against it or something? Is it against the law? If it is... well, bollocks.

The way the lights shined in her eyes, on her skin, in her hair... she looked so beautiful. Who can I tell about this? Harry will scream it to the world, Niall too, Liam. Liam will help me. Once we are both safely inside our flats, and after a long kiss, I dial my phone.

“Hey Lou, what's up?” Liam asks.

“I need your advice.” I tell him, all of my humor gone, replaced with confusion.

“Okay, what's wrong?” He asks, sounding really concerned.

I take a deep breath, “I think... I might be in love... with Ali.”

“Oh. Oh! Wow. Lou, then what's the problem?”

“We've just had our second date, is it even possible?” I'm pacing the floor now, running my free hand through my hair repeatedly, screwing it up.

“I don't see why not, ever heard of love at first sight? Well what do you think the note was, most people wouldn't go out of their way to ask someone out during a concert, Lou, this is just a delayed reaction.”

“Delayed?” I squeak, “It's early if you tell me, could it have waited, oh I don't know, maybe a month at the earliest?”

“You just gotta admit it to yourself, go ahead, say it.” Liam urges.

“Say what, exactly?”

“Louis Tomlinson loves Aleeya Matthews, go on say it.” I hear a scream in the background, and the phone on the other end jostles, Niall's Irish accent blares through the speakers.

“Did I just hear what I think I heard?” He yells. I hold the phone away from my ear.

“Yes, Niall, you did.” I sigh.

“Zayn! Zayn, come over here! Lou is in love with Ali!” Niall calls to Zayn. I rub my temples. Suddenly the line goes dead, and about two minutes later Harry is pounding on my door. I open the door, his face is in a huge grin, and he opens his mouth the scream it, but I clap my hand over his mouth first.

“Shush.” I say, “Come inside.” The second I close the door he squeals like a girl at one of our concerts, but possibly higher pitched.

“How did it happen?!” He asks excitedly. I tell what we did on the date and he grins at the end.

“Louis! You really are the romantic one! How're you going to tell her?” He asks.

“Tell her? Who says I'm telling her?”

“Well, you have to! You just do!” Harry shakes me by the shoulders.

“Not now! Bloody hell, Harry, we just had our second date, we've known each other for like, four days!”

“Yes, now.” Harry, manages to pick me up, somehow, in a burst of adrenaline. He opens the door, sets me down in front of Ali's door and knocks, holding me in place. She answers the door in her pajamas, all her make up taken off and her hair in a ponytail.

“Louis has something to tell you!” Harry says quickly, then runs away, laughing evilly.

“Yeah?” She asks, intrigued.

“I... Well, I think I... I...” I just pull her to me and kiss her passionately. When I pull away she whispers.

“Me too.”

I call Liam back.

“Harry made me tell her.” Is the first thing I say.

“Really!? What happened?” He asks, then adds, “You're on speaker now.”

“Well, Harry knocked on her door, after dragging me over there. And I couldn't say it, it just wouldn't come out, so I kissed her. And after, all she said was: “Me too.” and she kissed me again and closed the door, smiling.”

“And I'm guessing you want to kill Harry?” Niall asks.

“Yes, yes I do, but I'm sort of glad he made me do it.”

“Wow, this is weird Lou.” Zayn says, “Never thought I'd see the day when Louis Tomlinson was serious.”

I laugh with them.

“Well, I”m going to go to bed, nuh night lads.” I hang up the phone, take off my clothes and fall asleep the second my head hits the pillow, my dreams replaying the scene over and over again.

When I wake up, I hear singing coming from the kitchen, along with the sizzling of bacon. Ali is singing. She sings an old Christmas tune, and only the first two verses, but she's good.

“When the leaves turn brown, and they cover this lonely town, well I miss your kiss, when the leaves turn brown...”

I pull on some sweat pants and a t shirt and poke my head out the door hoping she won't notice and keep singing. But, sadly she does. She blushes furiously, “Morning, how did you sleep?” She asks, not looking up from where she flips a pancake in another pan. I walk up behind her and hug her from behind, kissing her cheek.

“Mmm, good, you?” I answer, still groggy.

“Very good. Breakfast is ready, wanna call down Harry?”

“Not really.” I say. I help her bring food to table and I pour glasses of orange juice.

We talk while we eat, laughing frequently. While we're loading the dishwasher and cleaning up the kitchen she says, “So, you really should lock your door, I could just come in at anytime, you know.”

“I think that could be an advantage.” I say.

“That's what I was thinking.”

“So... about last night...” I mention smoothly.

“Yeah?” I hear the smile in her voice.

“You knew what I was trying to get across to you, right?”

“I most definitely did.”

“Well, good. Because now I can say it: I love you.”

“Good, because I love you too.”

Hi Sophie,

" My books are not romance themed, but have characters who fall in love in them."
Introduction of the "L" word. I was wondering when. Well handled.
