Chapter 31

extra chapter

I died in my high school. Flames encroached on me and I crouched in the corner of my math class room, squeezing my eyes shut and screaming at the flames first contact. Then there was someone in the door. He tried to come to me, but there was no path in the fire. Tears squeezed out of my eyes as I shook my head. I wouldn't put this person in danger for me. He stepped into the fire.

“No! Go! Get out of here!” I sobbed, then coughed. He bent over in racking coughs.

“I'm Lianne, nice to meet you, now get OUT!” I screamed at him.

He coughed again then choked out, “Wren.”

“Please, just save yourself, I'm not worth it!” My legs and feet had gone completely numb, as if they weren't there anymore. He took another step, then started coughing.

“GO!” I screamed. He backed away, coughing. Out the window I saw him make it outside, point to the room, and then collapsed. I close my eyes and wait for the pain to stop, holding in the screams.

I kind of don't want to be found.

I feel a lifting sensation and I look down, my body is burned and blackened. I'm dead. Outside, Wren has an oxygen mask on his face, but he's still unconscious. I float over to him. Thank you. I whisper. And continue to rise. But then stop. I see four other spirit rising out of the school, one is my little brother, in the preschool that uses the extra rooms. I hold his hand.

“Lee-lee, what's happening?”

“Ben, we can't go home anymore, I'm sorry.”

“Why not?”

“We... we're dead, Ben. We're dead.”

Suddenly we are engulfed in blackness. Then a light erupts around us, I'm hugging Ben in my ghostly arms. Around me is a city. A green, nature-infused city.

“Lee-lee, why are we in a city under the ocean?” So his personal heaven is Atlantis, funny.

“I guess this is where we go forever.”

“Forever? But what about Libby?” Libby's our German shepherd.

“Libby will be okay, I think we can visit her sometime.”

“Okay. I'm tired, can we go to bed.”

“Yeah, we can.” Suddenly a bed appears in front of us and we are quickly asleep. So this is being dead.

Not what I expected.

I absolutely love how you can just come up with random characters, and give them life in just one chapter. That's really cool. I also like your own version of heaven. also, really cool. great chapter once again. Even if I really want to get back to the actual, non side chapters, I do enjoy them. But PLEASE get back to them, you are killing me, i have no patience!!!!!
