Miracles in DisguiseA Poem by SophieWishes upon a star? My pleas must be piled up on a fiery ball of gas That's really as they are taking my dreams, making promises they can't keep, hateful stars letting my beautiful wishes lie in a messy heap.
Stars are supposed to be beautiful miracles in disguise, miracles in the skies, But really if you take away the mask of lies, all you see is the discarded, torn dreams and wishes, ripped at the seams.
I will set them free. Those broken dreams I will mend them, put them together, those beautiful wishes, I'll send them off with kisses.
When I die, and leave my mortal life, I want to become a wishing star, one that does its job. I will prevent the sobs of a human heart's cracking. What the liars are lacking, is a soul.
I will be the brightest star, the brightest, the best, soon I will grant the wishes, make the dreams come true, just wish upon the brightest star maybe I'll choose you.
Finally, at least one star really is a miracle in disguise, a miracle in the skies, only to be seen by the saddest eyes. © 2012 SophieAuthor's Note
