Made of Glass

Made of Glass

A Poem by Sophie

Be careful what you say

be careful what you spill

secrets

are not yours to tell

If your tongue was made of paper,

and had a limited use

you would definitely stop

the verbal abuse

If your tongue was made of glass

and was webbed with many cracks

from all the lies you told,

you would stop being so bold.

If lips could erode

from too much use

you would stop the lies that flow

endlessly from you

Pretend your tongue is made of paper

pretend your tongue is made of glass,

pretend your lips will turn to vapor

and stop being such an a*s.

Should I change the end so it's not a joke? I just saw the opening an I was like... okay, I"m gonna do it lol

i think the end is nice and comedic. It's like the comic relief of the poem. Although you still get a strong message. I was like saying "yes. true. yes true. HAHAHAHA"
awesome

I like this, especially with the ending. It's not expected, and the little added humor, i think, really helped it (not that it needed any help!) Thank you.

Hey it was good! This is true in every case of words that I know. The end could be a little less joking and without the a** at the end but altogether great. :) go Sophie!

I actually really liked the last line, so don't change it. ;) I liked the thoughts of 'glass tongue' and 'paper tongue' really made this poem something special. Good write.

Hmm, no. Keep the last line. I know what you mean though, all the lines are beautifully crafted round the same concept and the last line sticks out as different, but to me that's a good thing. Sometimes you just have to say it like it is. Excellent write.
