“Mom! I'm going audition for a TV show tomorrow! I have to pack!” I run into my room.

“Emma! Don't joke with me! We've been trying for so long to get you famous! And now we finally are! What is it? A soap opera? Comedy? Hell, I'd even be happy for a Disney show!” Linda says, running into my room after me.

“Better! A reality TV show! I get to be famous for ME! Not a character! But remember, it's only an audition! And guess what!?”

“What?”

“Shae got in too! I'm so happy! Go away! I have to pack.” My mom scurries off and I turn on my music full blast and dance around on my baby pink carpet, whipping my long blonde hair around happily. If only Shae weren't going though. We used to be friends, practically inseparable, but then I got my first boyfriend, lost my virginity, smoked ONE joint, (and it was disgusting), and my b***s came in and she just started drifting. I missed her for a while, and then I decided I had new, better friends, so I didn't really need her, we tried having sleep overs again, and it didn't work. She wasn't very talkative. I take a small tote bag out of my closet and fill it with clothes, make-up, jewelry, and other necessities.

I'm so excited. It's around nine o'clock, I need my beauty rest for the audition tomorrow, so I go to bed.

I wake up in the morning energized and ready to go. I hop into the shower and shampoo and condition so my hair will be shiny and silky. I get dressed in pretty outfit, a sundress and heels with a pants stuffed into my bag, just in case.

I sit in an armchair and wait. At exactly noon a black limo arrives and a well dressed woman rings the door bell.

I open the door, “Hi! I'm Emma!” I say, smiling.

“That's nice dear. Where is our contestant?” She says, looking behind me.

“Uh, right here?” I say.

“You! Ha! Well, you may want to change into sweatpants or shorts or something, that just won't do at all, I'll wait for a total of three minutes. Go.”

She's scary, normally I would take orders from someone like that but I run into my room and throw on a pair of ripped denim booty shorts under a pair of grey yoga pants and a camisole and a off the shoulder top under a sweatshirt and I grab a hairbrush and many ponytail holders.

“Better?” I come back, panting.

“Much.”

I go to grab my bag.

“You don't need that, leave it here.”

“But- I-”

“Leave it!”

I drop the bag and follow her out the door.

“You may want to tell your mother that you love her.”

What? “Bye mom! Love you!” I step into the limo and I see my mom waving proudly as I close the door.

Little did I know, that was possibly the last time I would ever see her.

“So...where are we going?” I ask the limousine driver. He seems to be mute, or maybe he's just not a very talkative person, either way, it makes me uncomfortable. The car comes to a stop and I open the door. Immediately I am blindfolded.

“Is this necessary?” I ask, completely calm.

“Yes.” We walk for a little while longer and I feel cool air, we're outside.

“Stairs.” The gruff voice says. I step up a few times and then I feel myself being led down a narrow isle. “Sit.” I comply and I feel my self being buckled into the seat. Now I'm worried. Then I feel movement, it's slow at first but then it builds to a ridiculous speed. Then I feel as if we're going up, I hear gasps and screams, some people are getting it. I don't. Then my ears pop.

“Oh my God! GET THIS BLINDFOLD OFF ME!” I scream with the other people. The owner of the voice does what I ask.

I'm on a plane. Oh my god, I'm on a plane.

“I thought this was just an audition!” I yell again. An intercom beeps and I hear a gruff woman's voice.

“Hello, contestants!” I hear a murmur of happiness mixed fear. “I'm going to tell you about this show you are competing in. It is a reality TV show, so there's no acting, don't worry about that. The only thing you have to worry about is survival.” There's another murmur from the apparent contestants. “Anyway, there's two- hundred of you, there are only 28 of you on this plane. From the Caribbean, America, Mexico, and Canada. The other contestants are from other places in the world. There are many planes coming from many places all over the world and they are going to be landing on a tropical island. We will separate you by country and give you one thing that will help you survive. This is being filmed right now by the way, but you know everything was going to happen anyway, so this isn't a shock.” Um, yes it is! “Enjoy your flight!” I look around, the kids from Mexico and the Caribbean all look like they had heard it before. Where as the kids from Canada and the USA are panicking.

Oh my god. A battle for survival! I wish my parents had been home.

“Oh one last thing, in case you didn't know it, that person on here that you know, yeah, you actually hate each other.”

I hear more gasps and a lot of “Thank god! I don't have to tell you!”'s. I cringe at what I know is about to burst from Emma's mouth. “You hate me?! Thank GOSH! I hate you too!”

“Oh... Good?” I question.

“Now I'm not obligated to talk to you!”

“Yeah! I don't have to listen to your annoying voice and look at your make-up caked face!”

“I don't have to look at your curly hair that's always frizzing out of it's braid and your stupid brown eyes!”

hey Sophie! this is a great beginning to this book. Oh, and this one sentence, "heels with a pants stuffed into my bag," I'm not so sure that 'a pants' makes sense. that was really the only grammar mistake that i noticed... so i think the rest is grammatically correct.i can't wait to read more. Please hurry up and write! XD
