Then The Summer Came

a poem, for once actually based off me.

It was so strong

and so real

that pain,

that burning

you made me feel

I'd felt it for a while,

But brushed it away

but everyday

when I saw you

I'd melt a little

And then my heart tore in two.

Why?

Why did it tear?

When I told you how I felt

confessed my love

you didn't care

like I didn't have feelings

like I wasn't alive

And for months

I was tortured

by your grey, blue, and green eyes

and your light brown hair

It went from a crush to love

in that one horrid night

of waiting for your answer

Then the summer came

golden and green

and I forgot how impossible your eyes seemed

And for once

I was freed

by the love

that crippled me

Then school was back,

and I saw you everyday

I clutched to the summer,

and tried not to see your eyes

but I couldn't resist,

just a peak

it won't hurt

And now I've fallen once again

and when

I see you

my heart melts

and tears in two

because

I can never have you

This really relates to me because I've had one summer relationship and it didn't go so well and for awhile I still had feelings for a guy. I don't anymore, but this really relates to my feelings I felt that time in life. Thanks for sharing :)
