The One to Blame

It was wrong
I know that know
choosing sides
I was blind

To the happiness you brought
to a room and to me

I would like to blame
him, for the cuts and tears
but its only my fault
for I was stupid
and I had no fear

The hitting
the screaming
the nightmares

I could have had

happiness
love
hugs
and sweet kisses

Why? Why did I do this to myself?
I'm the only one to blame.
Not you.
Not even him.
Me.

I have never been in an abusive relationship, hell, never mind having a boyfriend, so this is just something I wrote.

I can really relate, you re-call you memories more times than there are stars in the sky but you never feel better about what you did, is it posible to even regret the mistakes you make. Then you think to the future hoping for happiness, maybe even a fixed relationship or newly kindled flame but you know what you did is unbearable and cannot be forgiven or overlooked. Maybe one day you'll find someone to blame but it doesn't happen, it never does. This poem lays it all before you but more structure and thought it, loved how much impact it had..x
