Flowers that Never DieA Poem by Sophieless than five minutes again
Twenty-six letters, Arranged in different ways All mixed and jumbled on the page Will never express What I feel for you
Magic marker Fluorescent pink Colors and curls Will never express What I think
I feel as if The sun rose for the first time in my world And in my world it rained in the desert The desert grew flowers And water continued to fall from the sky And the flowers Never die
I think That your eyes Impossible as the sea Grey and blue and green Deep as the Mariana Trench Blackness and falling I think you are a light Shining in that hole As dark as a moonless night And the stars That dot the sky You Are impossible.
I can’t understand How you could be so wonderful How can you depend On me? When I soul-ly Lean on you And your impossible eyes And your beautiful face And your eyes that are like the sea, deep, and starlit And the way I feel new like a sunrise And how I feel like a desert Finally sprung to life, with flowers That never die. © 2012 SophieReviews
