HiddenA Poem by Lauren PerryMarch 5, 2016She sits alone and thoughts consume her. He is like the siren in the distance, a mystery that cannot be solved. Her every moment is filled with his presence. His heart is locked away, and emotions hidden within. She wants nothing more than to posses his spirit, to captivate his soul, and to fill the empty spaces. His walls are too strong, unbreakable, intangible. Her ideas of what could be is what fuels the flame. Her dreams are unrealistic but so simple in hindsight. He doesn't understand and can't match the plan. He is afraid and reserved, protecting his broken pieces. She won't give up on him, there is too much at stake. She fears for the future, the unknown ending to their story. She can feel an ending, full of pain and longing. He can't be tamed, and doesn't see what she sees. His understanding of her, is something she has yet to be told. Her heart is lying on the floor, every emotion is shared, she holds nothing back. He gives her just enough to keep holding on. He tries to give her what she needs, but never enough. He tells her things that she wants to hear, but is it true? She is so afraid to know the truth behind his eyes. She is guarding her heart. The heart that she so desperately wants him to keep.
