Waiting For His Angel

Waiting For His Angel

A Poem by Luissanto
"

Written by Louis Saint Verges

"

Laying upon his bed

looking at the sky

asking God one question

The question being "why?"

with a knot in his throat

and as tears filled his eyes

he cries out silently

but no one, hears his cries

having family and friends

but wanting no one there

to see or feel his pain

wasn't something

he would share

so much left undone

so much left unsaid

nowhere else to run

for soon, he would be dead

His nurse was so gentle

and showed him so much love

he wondered if she was an angel

sent to prepare him

from up above

his time was coming now

yet he had no fear

This chapter would soon close

His angel drawing near

He closed his eyes once more

to rest in his eternal sleep

as his angel came upon him

for his soul to finally keep.

This poem is a real gem.Straight from the heart overflowing with unsaid feelings.A man in his deathbed selflessly breathes his last.He has many unanswered questions, unfulfilled dreams but as his time descends upon him he is carried away to his final resting place.Sans problem, sans worries. The poem flows smoothly from one line to other hooking the reader in.:)

Thank you for such a beautiful sentiment, It inspires me.
You write raw and from the heart my friend, I do appreciate this piece, it's hard to feel so lonely at certain moments in your life, when the pain is too big to share with anyone... I recognize so much of myself in this, when I'm in hurt, I keep quiet, and do not talk to anyone. There is always some great light, on the end... I wish things to be better for you soon.

All my best,
-Elisa

Thank You for saying so... I am truly honored by your beautiful words.
I have shared many last moments..
Held hands..prayed
Some went gentle, some went angry
Endings are never soft nor sweet
But no one here
Knows what THEY see..

This is beautifully and straightforwardly written. I could feel the deep emotions in here. Sometimes we don't want to share our pains to our family and friends and from out of nowhere someone is will come along to ease our burden...

Awe, this was so precious! I guess we don't really picture where we will be when we die or how it will happen, but the last person we see could be seen as an angel figure. This partially reminded me of an old tv show I used to love called 'Touched By An Angel'. That show alone really taught about the ways angels can be perceived. It also taught me about death and the grieving process. I forgot which actors it had in it, but I will always love it. Very powerful.
