As I stand before you

What is it you see?

Do you see the man I am

or the man I'm meant to be?

 

Do you see a leader

a husband, father and friend?

or do you see a letdown

a disappointment with no end?

 

So often I have hurt you

yet you've never left my side

I've sinned so many times before

I want to run and hide

 

But you've never given up

because of what you see

You don't see the man I am

or the one I use to be

 

What you see is Jesus

and the love, you have for me

You sacrificed your son to die

so I could be free

 

So what is it you see?

I finally understand

You don't see the man I was

or the one I am

 

You see what I will be

a man who loves you so

a servant, a son, and friend

something you've always known
