Pain

Flows through my veins

Drives my very existence

Inescapable, Unrelenting, Excruciating

Pleasure is only a mask

Lasting a moment, and giving way

To Pain

Life is pain

Where is my escape?

 

I serve the bouts of others with no regard

For my own suffering

Purpose; I feel it not

Life is a chain of sameness

Unending in its cruelty

Pain

It is the fate for us all

Uncaring, Indiscriminate, Harsh

The eradication of pain

Is the destruction of Triumph, Achievement

For without struggle

Life is a sham

This has a disbelieving feel to it, emo in a sense.
But it's amazing; the flow and meaning of the poem is great.
