As I Lay Here

As I Lay Here

A Poem by Lucy

As I lay here,
knife in hand,
I wait for the courage to strike.
The courage comes and I cut.
Deeper and deeper,
the blood comes pouring out.
Dripping down my arm.
I sit and wait for the moment,
when all stands still.
As I wait
I think of you.
I think of all the good times we had.
I think of the bad.
But mostly the bad.
I think of how you caused this to happen.
How you said we'd be together forever.
Forever.
That word runs through my mind.
Over and over.
Forever.
The world stops and all is gone.

To do the honors as they say, it's an okay poem....with a simple suicide.

To be slightly more constructive;
1) Utter lack of vocab...and style:
e.g.
"I think of all the good times we had.
I think of the bad.
But mostly the bad."

2) it was pretty dragging although it's such a short poem.

Tell you what I'll read another one of ur poems. Maybe u weren't inspired when u wrote this.
