Untittled

Untittled

A Poem by lucyh

There’s no point in turning back now

The past is the past

I have no reason to look back

But there’s a part of me that won’t let it go

The longing for the way things were before

I didn’t have any worries

I just took life as it came and actually lived

Now the world is so fucked up

No wonder they say no one dies a virgin

Life f***s us all

Society penetrates the minds of people ever since they’re kids

Willing for us to be a certain way

That’s why we all end up one of two ways

Stuck being society’s b***h or

Being so lost, that we never really live

Every “fashion” magazine has stick thin girls on their covers

They advertise “diets” and “exercise” to be just like them

But why can’t they just let us be

They are promoting ways for girls to get rid of their real bodies

Why don’t they put someone on their cover who is relatable?

Girls are pressured to look this way from a young age

Leading them to all kinds of problems

Most of them don’t even come clean about them

They just live with a tangled up mess in their heads

We come to a point of holding so much in that we take it out on the ones we love

So the ones we love put their guards up

Leaving us no one to turn to
