A Poem by Jessie Dana

waking in a cold sweat
shaking and scared
i want to hold you
and make it go away
protector
both weak and strong
learn when to let go
with me you are safe
let my heart be your home
my arms your shelter
and my love your safe haven
darling, be not afraid
the past is over now
you are home
i am here

This is so comforting to read. I often find myself wanting to protect the ones I love from any danger or turmoil that may be headed their way. I love 'you are home, I am here'... I think just unifies your poem and ties it neatly together, displaying a natural response to unconditional love.
