I'm More Than Nothin'

A few days ago, someone looked at my ring, and said, "You must be somebody's special somethin'!" I don't think the human heart is made to withstand being completely alone.

You must be somebody’s special somethin

Can’t be everybody’s absolutely nothin

Can’t be left behind

Mankind

Isn’t made to be left in the dust

Innately, we’re made to trust

One another

Love one another

Take care of one another.

 

You must be somebody’s special somethin

Someone’s photo in a wallet

Someone who’d show it off and call it

Their baby, their sister, their friend

 

You must be somebody’s special somethin

There’s got to be a place called home

Comfy, familiar, where you belong.

Even if a long

Way away.

It’s gotta be there.

 

There must be someone who gives a damn

Who sticks up for you in life’s battering ram

Thanks Prateeksha - it actually came from a time my family and friends abandoned me. I honestly would classify that hurt as more painful than anything else - death of someone you love included.

Wow , that was really emotional and sweet. I liked it a lot. Indeed there is no better feeling than the realization that someone somewhere is always concerned for you, loves you, cares for you and whose well being lies in your well being. That is why relationships are so important in life. One can never ever live alone. You may have all the money, all the comforts, all the things which you ever wanted. But if you are not " somebody's special something" , then you really have nothing in life. You are the most poorest person on the earth
