a sort of thought

a sort of thought

A Poem by luciddreamer

We are growing weary of our own needs

terrified nothing will ever change

the same old film day after day

new producers, new actors, but played the same way

fear to your left, fear to your right

throw in insecurities and hate

 violence will be next,

it is just the right receipe

We are stunned week after week with our grocery and gas bill

ringing higher and higher, while we dig deeper and deeper, now I understand the "need" to teach us to stand in line,"don't break that straight line," I can still hear teachers say

And they are everywhere you need help at these days

 welfare line

foodstamps line

unemployment line

grocery store line

pharmacy line

We have become so numb we trade our rights for a worned out rope untangling as we are grabbing, yet still we continueto try to swing to the next vine,

We have been trained....no one is naturally this stupid

oh this is a thinker!! which I like!! I agree the last line is particularly great - that's something I ask myself often when I watch people on the tube haha!! common sense is a rarity in this world! this is a stark look at conformity and its agents!! nice!

nuturing the passive in us all..your last line was superb..indeed we are trained and by the people that we wouldn't question (our parents) for this is stupidity that is handed down..for no other reason other than thats how its done..about time someone opened their eyes and asked some questions..

This is a thought provoking poem and the last stanza speaks a great volume of truth.

Thank you for reminding me.
I needed that just then.
