Dandelions are such a misunderstood little weed. One of the hardiest there is, I have read. People, especially in the US, spend lots of money trying to rid themselves of these little plants.
I myself, as a child, was always drawn toward a dandelion patch, the small, plush, yellow flowers were beautiful to me, and the seeds, well, I made many a wish blowing those into the wind. Some people use dandelions for salads, others for a tonic, and has been said to increase psychic abilties as well as having a cleansing quality.
I have just found it amazing that a little flower, who many consider a weed, has so many uses.
Great little story. So many weeds are in reality good food. I am learning to eat the weeds these days...and regret how much good food I have pulled as a weed in my life. A reminder of how dependent we are as a society of grocery stores. We would all be more healthy if we ate more weeds. I love your story!
The dandelions are beautiful
Dandelions are a rich source of
vitamins A, B complex, C, and D, as well as minerals, iron,
The leaves are often used to add flavor to salads,
An in sandwiches.
I agreed with your words people who don't know
the benefits of this little flower
Excellent write and message within

To me , the sight of dandelion seeds floating by is one of the best sights ever .
It is so.
I recently heard a thing where they are nutritional, historically consumed in soup I think....and were sure sign of poverty....if only I could remember where....
when we were kids, we used to pull the centers of the flowers and eat them.
Very sweet.
Nowadays they might have germs on them.
However, did you say psychic abilities?....hmmm....
Finally, Dandelion Wine, thanks for reminding me Jim. I remember a root cellar with lines of jars of Dandelion Wine....67', 71, 74..... had stuff settled in the bottom....
Made one feel like a dandelion....
As a child in the midwest, my parents made dandelion wine! I also used to chase my little sister around with one and smear the yellow flower on her, which stains the skin. And many a time, my mother sent us back out of the house to pick the seeds from our hair and clothing after blowing them on each other.
This brought back many fine memories of my youth. Thank you!
