Dream

Dream

A Chapter by luciddreamer
"

A dream I had today

"

Soaring over mountains

Talking with angels

Looking at the world

the way it should be

Fly in cave

no exit allowed

you must walk through

what you most crave

First was my lover

his tender heart melting

my predisposed mind

I cried as I realized

I couldn't save him, we'd only pull each other down

We can only save ourselves

Next was my chldren

so much emotion, young adults on their own search

only thing I can do is lead by example

till the day that I die

So, reluctantly, yet happily, I waved goodbye

Then there was food

all my favorite kinds

sign said I could eat it all

they didn't mind

Beautiful houses, wonderful jobs,

protection to ease your mind

the darkness did offer

what I thought I wanted

temptations of every kind

Pushing urges away

dreaming of forest

wishing for a more simple time

Seeing a chance, to save herself

She runs toward the tiny door

with a turn of the knob

she is now outside

Now here she is

where she wants to be

with her true kin

a dog and cat, a goat and lamb

chickens, roosters, and a peacock named Sadie

tall pine trees

reaching for "heaven"

Stars shinnning down

sending their blessings

Peace in her heart

no enemies

This was an exceptional piece. I loved the different aspects of description.

This is a poem that takes you one heck of a ride then it is quickly on to another ride. I love that it is fast paced changing quickly. The details of each scene allow the reader to picture what has been written down. Dreams can take us from one place to another in a matter of milliseconds. The flow isn't smooth but the words are wonderful
