A lifeA Poem by luciddreamerI awoke one day to find myself living a life I didn't care for I would talk with God and ask how did I get here, how do I get out And it seemed he never had time to listen I, up to that moment, had made myself a tomb in my bedroom Lying in the casket watching the world blow itself up via my tv And I cried...
Then one day I pulled back the heavy drapes and allowed the Sun to come in To touch my skin, to bring warmth to my soul, and my eyes began to see The seasons come and go, the same ole same ole, even though I wasn't, life went on And I hardened....
Eventually I opened my window and heard the birds chirpping, watched the squirrels jumping, and heard the wind whispering secrets from long ago I ventured to my porch and fed the ducks, watched the fairies light up the woods Petted the toad who brought me luck as my garden grew And I wondered...
Now I'm on a journey of understanding, life and all it's hidden meanings Something I can't learn from a book or a movie Walking in others shoes is the way to comprehend And I live.... © 2010 luciddreamer |
