Eden...to me

Eden...to me

A Poem by luciddreamer

I once saw a movie

Where people hid in the woods.

They lived in an commune type society

They grew their own food,

Had the river to wash and bathe

The trees to meditate

And their children were

expected to learn,

to recite

the books from the past

This was Eden to me

this is beautiful~ humanity has made life so complicated when it is within simplicity such as the world you describe above where humanity is found~

Amen. What happened to us Humanity?
Figure; the Native Americans lived on this continent successfully for thousands of years without adversely impacting the world they lived in. My ancestors came here and observed that their way was just toooo savage, (these people didn't have christianity).
I mean, the kids were laughing and full, the men went off hunting and fishing and holding counsels, while the women were happy to do what we figured was All the work. All this with no styrene or Homeland Security Act.
How did we ever think we were going to improve on this way of living?
And look at our 'progress' on the same piece of dirt.
Great Poem.
You have a great way of saying much without going on and on as I do.......

Eden!
lol, me suggesting another title :D.
I really like the underlined fact in this poem, that even though surviving was the most important thing for people, even us, we also need to teach our children the "stories of the past". I love that idea, too bad we don't have much of good to teach our children anymore, i see bad things way more than good things now.
