A note to my daughter

A note to my daughter

A Poem by luciddreamer

I know you don't want to believe this

But I was once you

Young and naive

Proud

Strong

I remember thinking that asking for help was a sign of weakness

It's not

The thought of needing my parents for anything was

Unbearable

But I need you to understand something:

I am here

I'm not perfect

I will probably say or do the wrong thing

I love you

If we could be honest together

I know we can make it through anything

By the way:  Until today I thought the word bear was an animal and bare meant naked...we learn everyday

LOL love the ending..very apt..I feel this could be any mother speaking to her daughter, they are a breed of human being all on their own..I think that they must genetically morph into something else at 13 and then at 20ish morph back!!! well written with a loving mothers touch
