SuperGay vs. Ignorance Man

SuperGay vs. Ignorance Man

A Poem by Lucas Jay
"

The most ridiculous poem I have ever written

"

Look up in the sky

It’s a bird, it’s a plane

It’s a double rainbow

No, it’s da dada daaaaa

Supergay; The crowd

Whispers rumors

In disbelief; confused

By his classic good looks

And limp wrist

Yes, there he stands

A G on his chest

Wearing the latest

Fashion trends straight

From the Paris runway

Every strand of hair

Quaffed to perfection

The skin tight purple

Chiffon arches over

His seamlessly sculpted body

He has gold glitter

Across his eyelids

He knows exactly where

To place his chiseled jaw

So his eyes can sparkle

Like the night sky

Women want to be

His best friend

Men shake in their shoes

Children are apathetic

The Christians scream

He’s here to

Recruit our children

To his sinful ways

Men grab everything

They can find

Poised to attack

An enemy they

Cannot name

But what they do not know

Is that he is powerful

With a flick on a finger

Everyone in the crowd

Looks like they just

Stepped out of Dolce & Gabbana ad

And ecstasy rains from the sky

Somehow a disco ball

Lowers from the atmosphere

And techno blares

From the heavens

So loud even God himself

Cannot resist the urge to dance

His moves can hypnotize

Anyone staring too long

Just as the onlookers

Become mesmerized

By his limbs, a giant ray

Of red light engulfs the crowd

Yes it is Supergay’s mortal enemy

Ignorance man and his ray of hate

“Ha ha Supergay, you can never stop me

I will spread bigotry throughout the world

Starting with him”

Ignorance man grabs

Little Tommie Tucker

And begins affecting his mind

Boom; Supergay unicorn kicks

Ignorance man in the stomach

Releasing little Tommie Tucker

Woosh; Ignorance man

Swoops in knocking Supergay

To the ground; Ignorance man

Celebrates his early victory

Pow; equality punch to the jaw

Ignorance man is down but not out

Blam; Ignorance man gets

One last punch before

Ka-Chunk; Supergay

Rainbow punches

Ignorance man sending him

Foosh; Flying across the plains

Little Tommie Tucker

Hugs Supergay’s leg

“Thanks, for saving me”

The citizens rejoice

For being saved from absurdity

Supergay flies away

As fabulous as he entered

He announces

Love will conquer all

The crowd cheers

And waves wondering

When he will return

But next time he comes around

They won’t be able to

Recognize him

Because Supergay would never

Be caught in the same

Outfit twice

But they will know

It’s him

By the double rainbow

Shooting across the sky
