Holy SpiritA Poem by Holy GmaA poem about seeking the presence of the Holy Spirit.
Holy Spirit won't you come to me,
touch my heart and set my spirit free. Illuminate the path for me to take, that I may rest in your holy place. When my day is dark and my spirit flat; when my mind and soul are under enemy attack, those are the times peace and faith become unknown and I'm left fighting for my soul on my own. So I bow my head and quietly intone: Holy Spirit won't you comfort me, touch my heart and set my spirit free. Illuminate the path for me to take, that I may rest in your holy place. When I feel there is no one I can trust; when my mind believes the whole world's become unjust; when I am blind depending only on myself and I refuse to call on someone else, that's when my stronger self boldly yells: Holy Spirit won't you speak to me, touch my heart and set my spirit free. Illuminate the path for me to take, that I may rest in your holy place. When my faith and my peace are once again restored; when with every breath I feel accepted and adored; when finally I turn to God with all my trust, because He has graced me with an attitude adjust, I sing to God in a voice quite robust: Holy Spirit thanks for speaking to me and for setting my heart and spirit free. Illuminating just which path for me to take, the one that led me to your holy place. © Linda Troxell 1/3/17 © 2017 Holy Gma |
