Angels Filled The RoomA Poem by Holy GmaA Mother's Day poem written for my daughter about the birth of my grandson.
I can remember it so clearly
It could be happening today. The awaited time had finally come And we all began to pray. As You might guess, the night before had been full of anxious tears. We had never felt such excitement; But excitement tinged with fear. I had spent the entire night In an effort to keep calm A distraught and anxious woman-child, Because that was my role as mom. Now, this morning, all was hushed. The air seemed to be perfumed. The atmosphere felt sacred, As if Angles filled the room. When I heard the crying of an infant I felt an all consuming joy. My heart swelled as a voice announced, you have a baby boy! My role in life was recast just then; A new role added whereupon, My one and only daughter. First became a mom. © L.
