William Carlos Williams On Corn

William Carlos Williams On Corn

A Poem by Lionel Braud
"

i use to joke around with this lyric i wrote, because i think corn is a funny word.

"

A cornfield

is so magnificent

because it's all filled with corn,

a cornfield is magnificent

because all there is

is corn

Philosophically I would say: the cornfield is its corn. It is magnificently intelligent because it makes us to eat it, this way it can keep its genes spreading and existing... an amazingly intelligent corn.
