Desire's Full Communion

Desire's Full Communion

A Poem by Lionel Braud

Desire’s full communion
On a paged window

Patterned styles of thirsty men

Forget the clergy and the age of reason

The liaisons of perfect men

Cannot wail perfect frustration

Curtailed lips performing séances

And dark knights of eternity alliance

The seat of that which is glory

Is the blood in the streets that provokes sovereignty

Perfect love wears a garment

That deceives

Like the likeness

Forgotten newspapers

Especially the classifieds

By the dozens

I have claimed my army

Eyes blood red shot

Looking for love

Life says no

It is your turn

To fill the holes of congregation

Whatever black lines that define the contours

Of likeness, shall be that illuminate form

Until someone says otherwise

“It is this way”

Some one told me

Thousand-year-old habits

Await my solace

In cottoned walls of eternity

Full of rabbits and persuasion

Okay you have to do a book...end of discussion.

"The seat of that which is glory
Is the blood in the streets that provokes sovereignty
Perfect love wears a garment
That deceives"

That stanza is my favorite of the poem...the whole construction and flow of it is just perfect. The whole poem is great. I can't believe you never posted these before.
