Sleep

Sleep

A Poem by Ls

You lie sleeping.

Eyelids flickering.

Your breathing echoes

Around our bed.

You murmur,

Nonsense words

Hanging in the air.

I touch your face,

Your hair

Trace where skin meets

Scalp.

I wonder what you’re

Dreaming about?

So peaceful, lulling on

The waves of sleep.

Suspended high above

Me in a place I can

Never reach.

I wait impatiently for

You to wake,

For you to peel apart

Those eyelids

Blinking and dazed

You will look at me and

Smile.

Now you’re mine and will

Be, until night

Claims you again.

its like this painting of the person for whom the poem is written for, and it is super fantastically marvellous, just two more words : a beauty!

Certainly has a unique feeling that triggers a vast amount of images that I can relate to. I think most of us have someone in our lives that we love to wake up to in the morning and fall asleep with at night.
