Just a girl

Just a girl

A Poem by lrigD
"

You're just a girl.

"
You do not possess particular strength
Nor are you tall, or built
Your voice is always gentle,
Your words are always kind
You are not suited for ugliness

Your face is not hideous
Nor beautiful like the sea;
Your face is not that charming;
Oh, what are you doing to me?

Your manners are humble
Yet you stand in pride;
Your figure is slim;
Nearly a model's size

Yet you hold your stomach
In anger and in fear
But I see your eyes
And they are bright and clear

You are not that special
A normal, everyday girl
I always pass you on the streets
You never seem to notice me

But you hold me in your grip
Like a woman is wont to do;
I cannot turn away
And I do not want to.

I love the last stanza. sometimes it doesn't have to be anything extraordinary to catch your attention, its just them however they are. nice work.

I definitely would have loved to have heard the background story/inspiration to this work. My professor often says he would rather not know so that he can make his own conclusions. I beg to differ, I'm far too curious!
I think it's beautiful work. It's true, you know, that sometimes a normal person can catch your eye. Maybe that's what makes her special too?
Lovely, lovely work!

Very interesting. I see that you have this classified as a story, but it seems to me that it is a very well-written poem. I love the way your rhymes catch me by surprise and it helps me to make it flow extremely well. Keep up the good work! And now you have me wondering about this girl you wrote about! Feel free to check out my writing as well!
