Growing OldA Poem by lrebelMost often times my writing is intended as lyrics but I almost always veer off into poorly formed poetry. Here is another.I’m here, Growing old with you. You're here Growing old with me too. When we were younger You know we couldn't wait. Perpetual motion was our constant state. Never enough time To do all we wanted to. Now were older And there is not so much to do. So we slow up But it’s so hard to settle down. It’s time to settle up While the sun is going down. Well I’m here Growing old with you. And You're here Growing old with me too. If we were younger Would we do it all again ? All the sorrows I visited on my best friend. All the good times, Time just so well spent. But we don’t own them, Time we only rent. So as we slow down I can't help but look around. Cant' help but ponder Is this peace that we have found? It melancholy but The memories are real. I miss the children And all the time I tried to steal. Well I’m here Growing old with you. And You're here Growing old with me too. So as time speeds up I look back to where it went. I want to slow down Make sure the rest is so well spent. So love me. Please love me true. I promise That I’ll love you too. Cuz I'm here Growing old with you. And your here growing old with me too. It's not so bad But please let’s make it last. Because this moment Is already the past. So I'm here and growing old with you And your here growing old with me too Yes I'm here, growing old with you And your here, please grow old with me too Well I'm here Growing old with you Well You're here Growing old with me too....... © 2014 lrebelReviews
