midnight train

A Poem by lowriter
"

Poem/lyrics for a chord song acoustic guitar. Eminor.

"
Roaming on the midnight train.
Don't know when I will be home again.
Running fast, I can't outlast.
Gotta move on, oh I gotta move on.

Quick and silent, pacing the night,
Dogs and guns, I hide out of sight.
Fighting for my freedom still.
Gotta move on oh I gotta move on.

Rambling on the midnight train.
Don't knoW when I'll be home again.
Runnin fast, I can't outlast.
Gotta move on oh I gotta move on.

Hopped a car home free now.
Watching the tracks, row after row.
Each one a step farther away.
Gotta move on I'm almost home.

this feels like a throwback to the early american folk songs of woody guthrie and his contemporaries. traveling, moving on, wandering, were common themes. i miss that genre. thanks for bringing it back.
