Beaten

Beaten

A Chapter by Low Laville
"

Even when beaten, his spirit does not wane. He knows his strength; and takes pride in losing.

"
Ali lay on the ground by the side of the road, battered and bruised. Every inch of his being hurt and yet he looked up at his opponent standing tall on him, and smiled.

The older bearded man in the plated bronze armor, as he looked down at his beaten down opponent; looked more annoyed than happy after the victory. In a fit of rage, he almost smashed the hammer in hand down on the boy's face. "Why don't you fight me, Ali!" He stopped inches from Ali's face.

"Fighting is boring..." Ali said getting up with help from the man, "...you know this well, father."
"...You will address me as Rage Mage, King of Shea." The man told his son, It wasn't an order, just a bit of humor in it.
"Yes sir..." Ali dragged himself a few inches away from his father to where a sword wrapped in white cloth lay on the ground.

Ali took it up and held the sword in one hand and unwrapped the piece of cloth. It was a rather long broad sword with its blade equal to the cross-guard length of the sword. It had a long grip and a Dragon head decorating the pommel. One side of the swords blade had carved out teeth along the edge while the other side was wrapped in scales hiding half of the blade that joined with the hilt.

When the sword was fully revealed, it let out an incredible amount of energy that for a moment engulfed Ali, before he took control of the surge and calmed it down. The bruises on Ali's face and body started healing. He felt it as the exhaustion and pain left him completely in a matter of seconds.

"Fight me properly this time!" His father sprang at Ali without warning, hammer raised in one hand.
Ali wasn't fully prepared and blocked involuntarily, by bringing the sword between him and his father and the hammer. Ali blocked with ease. "Let's just go home father!"
"Home? If you don't fight me; I will throw you out!" Rage Mage smashed the Hammer into the side of Ali's skull.

Ali got thrown into the lake a few meters off-road. His head smashed against a small fishing boat and got knocked out.

Rage Mage gave up. He pulled Ali out of the lake and took him home on his shoulders. He's tried over and over again to get his son to be serious about fighting, but none of his attempts seem to be having any effect on Ali. It frustrates him because he wants Ali to be his successor to the throne of Shea.
While there are more eligible candidates to rule Shea, there is no one stronger than Ali.
