Winter AffairA Poem by DreaOn loosing a friendship and hence the friend to her addiction.
Words spew from behind clenched teeth; Chipped sleet upon my face; The cold winds had been stirring all year. Haul up the summer daisies. The blizzard is here. Overcast sky keeps the sun from warming my back; Huddled, and trembling against the protection I lack. Blustery snows blur and distort my vision. Your words now harsh ~ Gone cold and frostbitten. Sun warmed friendship; turned an unmerciful dead cold. I search the snowdrifts FRANTIC for what once was olde. Wind’s howl engulfs your heart chilling it to the core; Sheathing it; sealing it behind an iron iced door. For moon upon moons we have been the very best of friends. Now; this monster inside you is putting it to an end. This addiction that rules you buries me in the snow. I have no other choice ~ None other; But to let you go. I throw my head back and cry in despair ~ Let the Spring rains come ! Come wash away this winter affair. © 2008 DreaAuthor's Note
