in theory, in practice

A Poem by Sarah
"

another album inspired piece --> HIM's Screamworks. They are my muse, so bear with me people. I also suggest listening to the record while reading this. Only seven parts for first seven songs.

"
I. veritas, oh veritas
   There is a sick lie in love
but there also lies a disgusting truth;
     heartbreak is inevitable
            resurrection is always possible
burn, burn, burn baby
breathe me in just to cut me all over again
regardless, I will always be waiting.
II. admissions & adoration
You are the evading truth,
    the ultimate dream
        to which I cannot escape
and I am so afraid
      my lips are so blue;
I may never be enough for you.
You kiss all my fears away
you take hold of my fragile heart
    and in exchange hand me yours.
You kiss me-- ever so violently
 and I begin to wonder why I was
ever so frightened in the first place.
"I love you."
III. flatline
Nothing can rescue me now;
           you kiss me once
              and now I am in hell.
           The only sound left is the flatline
of my heartbeat; I have lost this war now.
IV.  petite mort
The sun kisses our sweaty skins;
    I sing the chorus of sweet sweet devotion.
           My body, serpentine, sends you a message
        a message in which only we can read.
                Only for you
                      Only for you.

V.  disarm

We are lost, we are lost;
               angels we once were,
           now we are nothing more than dust.
                  Save your kisses for tomorrow
                but today I cannot bear the intoxication;
                       the sorrow is too much to bear.
I love thee no more
         I love thee no more.
VI. blind
I still taste the poison on my lips
             I feel the darkness closing again.
            You're so far away,
              a dream now long forgotten.
VII. burn
The noose around me tightens,
             the wheel continues to turn
            my soul continues to burn
                all in the name of love and its unholy trinity.
