a final plea for you to come to me for one last time

a final plea for you to come to me for one last time

A Poem by Sofia Guerra

a final plea
for you
to come
to me
for one
last time
a misery i can unsee
and forget, those moments we
shared and had and buried
so deep into our memory that we
almost erased them completely; had i been so careless?
the hours slipping through my fingers;
the minutes i spend, every day, trying to bring them back
could i have foreseen this so clearly?
could i have been so sure that this all would end?
i wish i had a telescope so my eyes could leap through
the whole universe, until it reverted back to the beginning
and i could see us again; happy and home and held together
i don't think i'll ever make it there;
not until i find a better excuse to go
and regrets, those moments we
fought and clashed and cried
so long and so loud
it almost erased why we loved each other in the first place
and i wonder
what would have happened
if we had been so careful?
