Let it rain

Let it rain

A Chapter by loverslovexliarsliex

Obviously I was loosing my mind right? I mean there’s no way that any mystical creature could be real. Honestly, I have read about them but that’s all in good fun. Just a read to pass some time. Surely the people that wrote them never intended for people to go around believing in things like this, after all this is not Twilight. Vampires and werewolves do not exist. They never have and they never will.

This is it. I decided that it was time to put this subject to rest, I refuse to think about anything mystical. My head needed to be back in the real world, where things made sense. Well, most the time they made sense.

I walked quietly down the hall and to my bedroom where I took a seat on my bed. On the nightstand beside the bed there was a picture of Eli and I back when we were in kindergarten. Anger took over me and I picked up the glass frame with the picture and threw it against the wall watching it shatter into pieces.

“You stupid. Lying. Backstabbing. A*****e!” I screamed and tears welled up in my eyes.

“You were supposed to be my friend, you were supposed to be there for me. How could you just do that. How could you lie to me Eli. Why would you?” I cried harder as I yelled out to nothing.

The tears fell free like rain from my eyes and I didn’t care at that time. Nobody was here to finally see me break. I had hit rock bottom, and to add to the pain of it, I was alone. I was stupid and foolish to ever think that Eli and I could be friends forever like he had sworn. I was young, stupid, and Naïve. Now I was paying the price for it.

My eyes shifted over to the pile of broken glass on the floor. I seemed drawn to it. I got up off of the bed and walked slowly over to the pile of glass. I bent down and ran my fingertips along a big shard of it and then picked it up in my hand. It felt good, cold and sharp like steel. A smile started to tug on my lips, a broken smile but never the less a smile. The tears seemed to run faster down my cheeks and I could feel my eyes start to puff up more.

The glass made it’s way to my wrist where I pressed the edge of the cold object to the blue vein that was pumping blood through my body. Keeping me alive. Without realizing I had started to apply pressure to the skin where the glass was pressed and blood had started to trickle down my arm. Like scarlet liquid rain I let it fall down my arm, it felt so good bringing peace to me. I dug the glass in deeper until I couldn’t seem to make it go anymore and then I dragged it right up my arm, seeming to sever the vein.

I was cutting away the memories, the hurt, everything. Nothing seemed to matter to me anymore. As my blood pooled to the floor I got dizzier and dizzier until the world around me seemed to fade to black.

Let it fall like rain.
