the forever that lasts a day

the forever that lasts a day

A Story by loverheartsbreak

It seemed I lacked everything you needed.
I wasn't as tall as her, old as her, or as blond or skinny as her.
She lived thousands of miles away and I was next door.

What was so wrong with me that you had to throw me away like a used soda can when she showed up. Without her even asking you came to her rescue. You left me in the dark waiting for you to turn on the lights and welcome me into your warm and loving arms. All I got was the beasts that lurk beyond the shadow. Whispering in my ear that you weren't coming back. I've been running for too long, but every time I catch a break the darkness comes back. I try so hard to ignore it. But my distraction has left me for some tall love that isn't forever.

He talks about forever but after a year he is willing to throw all that away. I am here stuck. Nowhere to go. The one love I had that was real was wasted for him. I could've had everything with him. My friends would still respect me, my family would still be alive and well with me, and I would have true love. I wasted it on some jerk who can't see wrong from right. A jerk who chooses things wildly without caution. What person says forever and means tomorrow is it.
