History?

History?

A Poem by The One Unknown
"

It is a poem that questions how we view "our" history.

"

What is history?

It is the things that are of the past.

But I have one question about "our" history.

Why we pick and choose what is told in "our" history?

Why do we tell one side of it, more of?

Why is it so hard for people to tell some of the history

that they all want to forget?

Is it because they were a piece of the horrific past

that they regret being a part of?

Or is it something else?

If you look into a book of history where they tell the history of a country,

whose side of this history is this coming from?

And who is left out?

And why?

Do they want us to veiw "our" history

as the greatest story ever told,

or do they want to hide the dark history

that got us to where we are today?

If you were to look at history of anything

from every single perspective involved,

would you view it differently?

Or would you still see from that one side?

Think about it.
