Promises

Promises

A Poem by LeeAnne Elizabeth

I cannot be the only one

Who wants to stare at the sun

Because it reminds me of a place

Where everything’s already said and done

Colors wind in throughout the aisles

While minds fall down like a spiral

Not enough people care

In death of eras gone viral

Promises shouldn’t be real

It ends up being all you can feel

The only thing to hang hopes on

But they’re so easy for someone to steal
