I Know You

I Know You

A Poem by LeeAnne Elizabeth
"

About my ex-boyfriend, written when we were still together.

"

It was sometime at night

It happened in a car

In complete darkness but not total silence

I sighed and said, “They were right.”

This becomes who we are

Complete nonsensical and a total defiance

I put my head in my hands

Lights were shining into his car

This would be better if no one knows

Because no one else understands

This is who we are

I said, “We should never meet our heroes.”

I know I’m right

I know you are

I can see the end

It’s what we are
