How Could You Understand

This is about my battle with my anorexic "tendencies".

Like an angel in disguise

But there’s a fire in his smile

And more behind his eyes

Everything was clear

Then he crookedly disappeared

The Devil was here

That’s why these bones, they break

Because I lost my way

Why it started, that one reason

Is the only one I’m not believing

But he is the reason

And I believe him

When he says what he says

And I’m forgotten

I’m left behind

And now I know

I’ve lost my mind

The devil inside

Got me again

If he can’t see I’m sick

And unlike them

It’s everything but lies

And I believe him

But he’s still the reason.

I do not wish to say "I understand" or "I know what you're going through", as I know from experience that will only aggravate you further, but I truly enjoyed how I could relate to this poem. It is well written, expressive, and clearly draws out the feelings of a person under any psychological stress. Thank you for writing this, and please continue to do more!

i understood the story and really enjoyed it. so deep, i kinda picked up on personal life challenges in here maybe, or maybe a single obstacle in our life... maybe its just me, but either way good job on the poem, i really enjoyed it.
