Apart

Apart

A Poem by LeeAnne Elizabeth

I don’t remember the last time I was home

Because this just can’t be the place I would run to

Now I just feel even more alone

And the walls feel like they’re see-through

Now everyone can see the mess inside

And the sun is going down

Shadows lie on a double life

And everyone is leaving now

Except for me, I’m staying here

I’m too shy to do anything

But I know someday, I’ll no longer live here

And ironically, I’m up for anything

Maybe I’ll end up nearly 1,000 miles down the road

Or just six hours away

I hate to admit that there’s nothing I know

I barely know what to say
