Who Are You?

Who Are You?

A Poem by lovejulez03

This face is unbeknown to me

There is no grasp as to who is here in this house with me

Or who this person should be

Do I know you?

Where have you come from?

Blackened iris of the eye gleams

Pupils enlarged  coming to light

Frightening thoughts rise to the surface

You have broken and entered

This abode is not yours

There is nothing here for you to take

Leave! LEAVE!

I yell and I scream

I’m stuck in a bad dream

My feet glued to the floor, staring at an empty face

A face I do not know

Perhaps this intruder wants something of value?

Perhaps this stranger wants something from me?

I do not know
I just know that this person must go

Leave. LEAVE!

My words will not escape parted lips

I turn, eyes blinded by a bright light

There is a woman standing there,

Withdrawn from the shadows of the stranger in my home

Her light illuminates all my fear

Her beauty is intoxicating

Long locks of pitch black hair

Lay loosely around her shoulders

Deep brown eyes, almond shaped

Gleam with wisdom from experiences show to her

Her skin is supple and her curves are fierce

Full lips are brown tinted pink

Hints of secrets wanting so badly to peak

She breathes so peacefully,

Chest rising and falling

Nothing is said and silence is key

I stare, wide eyed, unable to catch my breath

My fascination with her is unknown to me

The intensity of my feelings bring fear to me

I want to know this woman standing before me

I NEED to know this woman, who could she be?

She reaches out her hand,

Smile gracing lips

“Come with me my dear, as I guide you to a better place”

Her voice is so familiar,

It holds comfort to me

So I follow.

She leads me to a place where light surrounds me

It’s like a mirror burning bright

And I wonder what she will show me

“I know you hurt, I see your pain”

“I feel your weakness, so I shall help you gain”

She leans forward and her lips meet mine

A tingling sensation runs down my spine

Wrapping thick arms around me tight

“Close your eyes and be surrounded by the light”

“When you feel no more tears open then again”

“Let me know what you see in place of the pain”

I close my eyes, cheek resting on her shoulder

I wrap my arms around her as I begin to wonder.

1 second. 2 second. 3 Seconds. Four

“Let me know what you see in place of the pain”

The words resonate through my brain.

I open my eyes.

All I see is me. Peace takes place of pain.

I have no idea what I was doing here. I feel it's all over the place, but I just started writing and didn't stop. I know what it means to ME, but I'm curious to hear from others how messy it looks and what the meaning behind it is. Opinions very much appreciated :)

It's very good. It's very imaginative.

Critique first: this piece is exciting, fast paced and dangerous - absolutely awesome and original for a poem. You take us along this journey with an expert hand, drawing sharp pictures with your vivid imagery. Definitely not all over the place or messy.

To me, it describes a terror (like an intruder) and a violent end. When death arrives, there is peace and beauty found within an ethereal being, ready to guide her home.

I really enjoyed this piece, I have felt the same way at times. This is a very well expressed write, nicely done!
