ColoursA Poem by lovejulez03Take it as you will. This is mixture of what I felt as a teen, trying to find my identity and what I feel now with everything going on in the world. If white is the absence of light And black is the absence of color Then what am I? What am I? Do I not bleed? Do I not see? Do I not love? Do I not breathe? Every step that I take I feel glass under my feet Toe heel. Heel Toe. No silence. Nowhere to go. I can’t seem to remember The last time I looked at myself And didn’t cringe I can’t seem to remember The last time I looked at the news Without becoming unhinged I can’t remember the last time I saw color Or the last time I saw light And I wonder… in the darkness of my mind… ...With only a cigarette left and clock without time… What am I? Am I worth it? What am I? Do I deserve this? What am I? Am I everything or am I nothing? What am I? This peeling and scrubbing reveals nothing. © 2017 lovejulez03Author's Note
