The reason.

I thought we could write a love story

Didn’t you mean it when you said, “I love you, tori”

We swore nothing could tame our love that shined like a star

But all you left was a heart full of scares.

Now, my nights are wasted dream of your face

And she is held in your warm embrace.

I thought the dreams we had meant forever

I thought I was your princess not a beggar.

We swore that our love was true

But you left so quickly out the blue.

Now my thoughts are filled with everything I did wrong

And you and she continue to travel along.

I thought I found my happy ending

I thought our love story was just the beginning

We swore our love was strong enough for any test

But now I sit here and try to fight off this war in my chest.

Now it’s been months and I know I’ve been replaced. 

She is now the smile worn on your face.

Maybe I’m stupid because everything I thought was wrong

But who knows how many times you felt like we never belonged.
