OMG! This is so true! These Dang Yankees come down here and, just because we're Southern and have that lilting drawl, that we're uneducated!

You, being a fellow North Carolinian, will have heard this one, I'm sure: What's the difference between and Yankee and and Dang Yankee? A Yankee comes down South, spends all their money and goes home. A Dang Yankee comes down South, spends all their money, and'll be DANGED if they're goin' home!

Yankees beware: if you ask for directions, and they preface their directions with, "Y'all ain't from 'round here, 'ere ya?" You're about to find yourself hopeless lost in the back beyond! :D

Well, I don't hate them. My dad is one of 'em. But, I deeply dislike the way they've moved in, brining their NY style businesses and way of doing business with them. It used to be that they'd come here and acclimate, embracing the Southerness of their communities. Now, they come here en masse and just transplant what they left behind, obliterating the communities they're moving into.
