Why Do We...

Why Do We...

A Poem by Alu Ro
"

Why do we expect love to be reciprocate with as much love and intensity that we have towards someone...?

"

Why do we expect to receive same intensity of love in return?

Why do we think we are at same cross roads as the other person?

Why do we hope to be reciprocated likewise?

On the contrary...

Now I think we don't really need to.....?

No matter how much two people love eachother

There is no equation that measures one to another

Maybe one expresses more than the other

Maybe one chooses to keep most of it to oneself

The struggles are real

The feeling of being left out may not be justified

But it still lingers in the air

With the believe that love does equals attention...

And in order to maintain a good pace of the relationship

To have the best possible outcome is for the faster person to slow down

As I believe it's only fair to allow time for catching up

Expectations can doom relationships. The poem explores some possible reasons for this phenomenon and gives a suggestion about a way to remedy the situation. Let me add another one: Know thyself.
