OptimismA Poem by LoveKilledTheKidsEveryday in English class, our teacher begins with a Daily Oral Writing warm up from Oneword.com Our word of the day was Optimism. & I wrote a rather general poem. I'm not confident about it.
One word.
Optimism. Surface meaning- outer beauty. Everything is going to be perfect. Happy, so so happy. Looking at things in a new and brighter light. Value- Inner meaning. Today worked out just fine. I am happy, so so happy. "Don't sweat it." "It's over." "Everything happens for a reason." I'll move on, move forward. I'll leave these stories behind. [He] picked [her]- it's all gone now. He picked her instead. I'll just be happy, so so happy, moving on one day at a time. Forever? No forever. But forever is a long time away. & I want him, [to be happy]. I'll be happy someday. "Don't look back." "Don't think about it." & I'll try- I'll try to stay content. Keep your head up, darling. Don't let them see your fears. Let them tear you up inside. Don't let them see you shed a tear. Be happy, my sunshine. Everything is going to be okay. It's just not your turn yet. Just keep waiting- maybe he'll want you one day. I practiced, my smile. I'll never let it show. I bottle it all up inside. It's better if he didn't know. He's happy, so so happy. & It hurts so much inside. I'll just keep waiting, keep moving, & somehow keep my head held high. It eats me, it hurts me. But I don't want him to know. He's happy, so happy. So I won't let my heartbreak show. © 2010 LoveKilledTheKidsAuthor's Note
